GoTyme Review: Why it is my go-to Digital Bank
Late last year, I saw the GoTyme kiosk while doing my weekly grocery shopping. I decided to check it out while I wait for a friend.
I was impressed that right then and there, my GoTyme visa card was released. All I had to do was download the app, present some primary documents and that’s it — I already have my GoTyme card! The agent was enthusiastic in encouraging me to maximize my GoTyme debit card. I am actually thankful that she did push me to get one as GoTyme became a convenient digital banking option for me.
Now that I’ve been using GoTyme debit card for eight months now, I can fully write my review and why I think this is an essential travel/shopping/payment card/app.
1. Robinsons GoRewards
As someone who lives in an area with a nearby Robinsons Supermarket, it is really practical to have a GoTyme app/card as it also automatically include a Robinsons GoRewards membership. I recently used my GoTyme/GoRewards in getting items from Daiso. It’s a win-win situation!
At the moment, they have a promo where they give random rewards if you book or buy items in Grab, Shopee, Lazada, Angkas and Move It using your GoTyme to pay. I was surprised when I suddenly received 500 Rewards Points!
2. Easy to Use
As a millennial who can’t be bothered to install every single app on my phone, the GoTyme app is easy to use and user-friendly. It also loads well and is very straightforward. I hope they keep it that way!
3. Visa
Having a visa debit card means you can withdraw money or swipe your card in almost any part of the world. In some countries like Singapore, they have Simply Go implemented on their public transportation (buses and trains) where you don’t really need to buy a bus or train card — all you have to do is tap your card and viola, you can go anywhere!
4. GoSave featureIf you’re like me who is a noob in digital banking, GoTyme’s GoSave feature is a good starter. Enjoy 3.5% interest every month! All you have to do is move or add some funds to your GoSave account and watch your money grow.
5. Paying BillsRight now, I am using GoTyme to pay my bills on time (electricity, internet/phone, insurance, water, etc.) as they offer real-time payments. It is also good for tracking payments and sticking to the budget.
So that’s it for now! I guess those are five good reasons to consider signing up with GoTyme. Just go to a kiosks and ask an agent to help you out. As of writing, you can still get your free debit card in an instant. Go go go!
